The Prince's Poisoned Vow by Hailey Turner
5.0
4.7 stars.
Perfect for fans of Game of Thrones and Priory of The Orange Tree. It’s a thick book with a lot of exposition and tons of different POVs, but if you stick with it, the story gets good. I for one welcome this god-sponsored lesbian Cersei Lannister character, and I’m obsessed with Vanya and Soren’s stories.
This is pretty different than Hailey Turner’s other stuff, so get ready to dive into a complex fantasy epic. But if you are a fan of her work, I’m happy to report this is a continuation of her theme AGAB: All Gods Are Bastards. (And also a little ACAB, because what is prison labor if not state-sponsored slave labor.)
I probably have to take a break before diving into the next book. It was so big, complex, and emotionally taxing that I might need an easier book to relax with for a bit.
Spice: 3-4/5
