I love this book.
First of all the representation. I cried because of it; it felt so incredible reading about queer teenagers, people who use neopronouns and people who don’t fit trans stereotypes. I’ve never felt this happy about representation.Something about that just made me throw this book across my room with excitement.
Second of all the concept. I went out of my comfort zone with this book since i usually don’t read anything horror. But this was absolutely worth it. I can’t even put it u to words how the religious themes intrigued me. 10/10.
While there sure are many more reasons why I love ‘Hell Followed With Us’ I also have to mention that at parts it’s themes were maybe a little too much for me. As I said I usually don’t read horror, so there’s that but also the deadnaming and misgendering of the main character and his feelings about it made me sick. I could relate and it hurt. So if you’re trans too I highly recommend taking the trigger warnings seriously.
