This book was not what I expected but what a pleasant surprise. Artistic, beautiful storytelling. My word of advice to those who are going to read it - put yourself in Birdie's "body" as she, in an essentially catatonic state, processes all that has happened to her. The playing with tense that Lindberg does will make more sense that way.
