The Snows Of Nissa by Isabella Khalidi
1.0
The way I was so enthralled by the concept of an exiled god and a mortal warrior 😠it could've been executed so so so much better and it breaks my heart that I didn't love this as much as I thought I would :/
As much as I enjoy descriptive prose, you lose me every time you refer to an eye colour as a 13-something-lettered gemstone and over-describe physical attributes of every character the moment they're introduced T-T
The world building and the mythologies again had so SO much potential and I would've loved it if there was more showing of the world building instead of talking about it through telling :/ I was also excited when I saw a reference to South-Asian/Hindu mythology however it wasn't reflected upon any further, nor do we see any other South-Asian representation which didn't seem like cultural appreciation to me.
The romance fell flat for me as well— I felt like it could've been a lot more developed instead of purely being based upon lust, but that seems to be a disappointing theme across romantasy books ://
