I've had several of Celeste Ng's novels on my TBR for so long and I finally picked up Everything I Never Told You from my local library, which actually was her debut novel. It is contemporary fiction with a mystery, which I didn't know going into the book.
Overall I enjoyed the plot of the book, but it was much more character-driven and getting to know the complexity of the family was the focus of the story. I felt like I completely understood their family dynamics and all the decisions that were made, both positive and negative. The conclusion to the story and mystery was very emotional and powerful, especially with the resolution with the youngest child Hannah.
I have since picked up another novel by Celeste Ng from the library and I'm looking forward to trying her more recent work.
