Hourglass by Myra McEntire

Wow. Hourglass was amazing.

I loved the concept of being able to see people from both the past and the present. The time-travel element made this book really unique!

As characters go, Emerson, or Em, was a great character. I loved her fun personality, and how she proudly tells people that her "edit button" is "broken". I really like Em and Michael's relationship. In the beginning I wasn't sure if I really like him, but I grew to love him as the story progressed. He was such a sweet character! I wasn't a huge fan of Kaleb as a love interest for Em, but I did really like his character. I liked them as friends. Kaleb sometimes seemed a bit annoying and pushy, at least to me.

I must say that there were some awesome quotes in this book. Michael was the one saying most of them. Ah, he was just so amazing and romantic. It almost makes me want to be able to see rips from the past, too!

Overall, I am so glad that I bought this! I'm not really sure what genre I would categorize this as - maybe fantasy, or paranormal? - but whatever mix of genres it was, I liked it A LOT! Again I'll say how much I liked the incorporation of time travel, as well as there being a bad guy! That always makes it interesting...Great read for paranormal and fantasy lovers!
