I could not put this book down in the last half. I read it on a Kindle, and I didn't know where I was in the book (for some reason it stopped showing me how far I've read). So I just stayed up almost all night a couple nights in a row. I just kept thinking it was close to being over, because just thread after thread was being finished.

The final part of the fool's story was SO satisfying! For some reason I had forgotten that the next trilogy is called "The Fitz and the Fool", so I really did believe he would die (and then did in fact die for good) as I was reading. I'm so happy that I'd forgotten. It was a joy to experience it along with Fitz and Fool.

The writing in these books does not flag in the least. I'm one of those folks for whom a single typo or a single comment out of character or time period can ruin the whole book for me - I'm probably 90,000 pages into this author's work and I haven't found one yet (90K may be an exaggeration...).
