Wow, No Thank You. by Samantha Irby

I think these hype reviews like 'HILARIOUS!!!' really mislead me, I don't find this kind of humor Hilarious in the slightest.

When I first started reading this book I just couldn't connect with it, I couldn't relate. Of course I couldn't, I'm a white British girl on the East Coast of England living in a rural village. But that's the point, I'm trying to ensure I don't restrict myself to reading stories about... Well, myself. I want to learn and know other people.

However, despite struggling to begin with, I actually suddenly found myself smiling and nodding along, agreeing and understanding. I LOVE to read about women who are able to put into words the things I've struggled with and experienced, things I didn't realise other people struggled with, things I hadn't found the words for.

I also loved learning about Samantha's life and experiences in the publishing world.

So I didn't find it HILARIOUS. it was way better than that - enjoyable, real, surprisingly relatable, funny and quirky, really interesting and more.
