Zwischen zwei Sternen by Becky Chambers

Like the first book from Chambers this book really made me feel things.
She has a way of writing that makes you float through the book and bond with the characters fast.

It was different enough from A long way... that it is it's own thing entirely, just set in the same idea of the future. It tells a different kind of story with different themes, but with the same positivity and subtle humor than before.
Both story arcs were interesting to me but sometimes I must admit I preferred Jane's and was dissappointed when her chapter ended. But over time I began to enjoy them equally.
While both protagonists face deep problems the way it is presented never becomes depressing for the reader, which I love about Chambers writing style.
The opinions and wisdoms the characters tell each other are once more delightful and encourage the reader the think about our society and their own idea of the future.

I might have enjoyed the first wayfarer novel a little more, because it felt more realistic to me and just surprised me with the way it avoided clichés and unnecessary drama, as well as introducing so many new species and an exoting world. In this one I just took these things more for granted.
But this book made me realize that I care about the characters in Chambers books more than I did in every other novel (except in my favorite book series).
