High octane! Pure metal! Singes your fingers upon opening. Builds a story that has you in a chokehold, a whisper into a scream, into a song. Impeccable character creation. Masterful control of pace and narrative tone. Just a Great. Goddamn. Story. Every single thing about both of these books knocked my socks so far off, it would take a dedicated search team complete with bloodhound to find just one of them. Some poor schmuck’s waiting on hold for me to return this to the library (my copy is ordered) and I’m gonna rack up a day or two of fines just to flip through it one more time.

5/5 My review was “aaaaaaaaaagggggggggghhhhhhhhhh”, for several paragraphs, until I got my shit together. I wish this was a trilogy (words you’d never catch me saying about any other book)
