Never Whistle at Night: An Indigenous Dark Fiction Anthology by Shane Hawk, Theodore C. Van Alst Jr.
4.0
I do not have much experience with anthologies. The only other one I have read was by Jordan Peele, which I thought was fantastic.
I liked this book overall. However, to me, some of the stories made no sense or seemed pointless. Elk teeth was my favorite, it was scary and a very interesting read. However, the one about the real estate agent made no sense to me. I know they are short stories but some seemed to plop us directly in the story with no context.
Overall, I enjoyed the read but wish there was more true horror elements.
