This book is super easy to read and has interesting anecdotes from the dogs he's trained over the years. What I really like is that he does a great job breaking the training down into simple steps and techniques that are not complicated or overwhelming at all. I also appreciate that he teaches empathy in a way that ultimately helps you better understand and better train your dog. He also stresses that there are distinct differences in breeds, personalities, and natural abilities of dogs and that when one technique doesn't work, that's okay, another one will, if you keep your patience and determination. 

Brandon has a show on CBS that I looked up after starting the book. I definitely recommend watching it, if you haven't already. In the show, you're able to watch him use the techniques he teaches in this book and see the problem-solving skills that are essential to dog-training.
