Sensual and moody, in the best possible way. Definitely a romance with a more dark and gloomy setting and plot but that didn’t mean the tone was super depressing, it still managed to feel lighthearted. I enjoyed the intimacy between the main characters and the way they respected each other’s boundaries even while one was literally bound to the other under a contract lol. I thought the fact that they were regularly sexually intimate while fighting the urge to kill one another was a fun way to lead to romantic feelings developing and the result was beautiful. Can’t wait to read more by this author!
