The Perfect Marriage by Jeneva Rose
3.0
Adam is married to Sarah, a power house lawyer. But he resents her for being successful, and the bread winner, and he, a washed up author.
So, as most man do, he cheated. Cheated with Kelly.
One day, Kelly turns up dead in his bed. Adam is the prime suspect. And his lawyer? Is his wife! She is the best defense attorney after all.
Full disclosure, I knew the ending. So maybe I’m not in the best position to give you a completely honest review.
But I can tell you this, the idea was brilliant, the execution was lacking.
The police was negligent. Sarah is investigating. Adam is investigating. This man is a moron. In key moments he couldn’t remember things. But when SPOILER he escape prison, spend a night in the woods, and borrow a cellphone, he remember the number of the journalist?
I think the little things in thrillers/ mystery’s are very important. And this book was trying to confuse the reader, sending him in different directions, to end in a completely different way.
And the man that was in Sarah’s house, that she had sex with, that we don’t know who it is, but can predict….
Just. Honestly, this book is a mess. Again, the ideia in itself for the plot is brilliant. The execution was severely lacking.
I think this would be a great movie though.
