On the whole, there were some interesting ideas, but they get bogged down quite a bit in irrelevant wanderings. The best ones are the ones that cut closely to a particular theme and didn't blow up beyond that. Potentially an interesting idea could have been told in adding, for example, a side romance, but in short stories, I think they work best when they're told tightly, because there's just not the space to really develop some of those side attributes and make me feel invested. If you're interested in the collection, then it starts off fairly strong and drops from there, so you can make your own thoughts by the time you get to the halfway point.
