Beck and Kate. I did not expect my heart to break and fall back together as it did watching this couple realize all along everything they needed was right there. The way this story is written is so beautifully done. I felt every bit of emotion as the main characters went through their own struggles to finding themselves. There are some really tough topics in this book. Elizabeth’s way to tackle grief, addiction, abandonment, and sense of duty in such a raw and powerful way, the emotions of these characters are felt. You can’t help but empathize with their pain, their longing, and their absolute grief and isolation. My heart is forever changed for Beck and Kate. This whole series is amazing. Each book can be read separately but the summer series does follow the best friends so far: Luke, Caleb and now Beck’s. The audio narration is done in duet style by Samantha Brentmoor and Connor Crais. Their voices really compliment the characters perfectly.
