This was a pretty amazing book - it has definitely been the best read aloud book I have read to my class. Students were challenged by Melody's struggles and outraged that it took so long to get the help she needed and deserved. Students were able to reflect on their own fears, misjudgments and "discrimination" (their words) of students with disabilities. Very powerful read!
