The Menagerie #3: Krakens and Lies by Tui T. Sutherland, Kari H. Sutherland
4.0
Krakens and Lies was a very fitting conclusion to this series as the villains are finally revealed and we get to see how far the treachery stretches. Like the past couple of books, there was a lot of fun involved in the story. The mermaids have gone on strike and the basilisk has been let loose, complicating Zoe and Logan’s plans to figure out the truth behind the mystery.
I really loved getting to see how Zoe and Jasmine’s relationship starts to heal. It’s great that they are able to figure out how to become friends again after what had happened in the past and even with the secrets Jasmine grew up with.
This entire series was excellent and brought the mythical creatures to life. The personalities of the dragons, unicorns, gryphons, and phoenix were all very unique and made the characters stand out. All of the relationships are written very realistically and made for interesting characters and situations to discuss. The ending of this series tied up all the loose ends and gave this series a very satisfying ending.
