The Bromance Book Club by Lyssa Kay Adams
4.0
I thoroughly enjoyed myself reading this book. Even if the couple wasn't the ultimate ship for me, which is normally kinda the main thing in romance books, it was just so funny and nice to read. I really liked how the author didn't make any Gavin or Thea the 'bad guy' in the relationship. They both fucked up and didn't work for their relationship. Instead of making Gavin the villain, the author just made him human and instead of making Thea the innocent angel it showed her flaws too. I also really appreciate how the problems in this book were just ordinary relationship problems. Often in romance book there will be this big, almost unforgivable thing that creates a problem between the two love interests, but this book really did it right. I also found the book club and the characters in there hilarious and found myself laughing out loud a few times about how ridiculous it actually was. The ridiculousness wasn't necessarily a bad thing though, I kinda liked it in this book.
The only thing that bothered me a bit is how over the top some scenes would be. Gavin quoting the regency romance stuff to Thea and the guys saying shit like 'it's all about the backstory man' were a little too much. I couldn't take that shit serious since it made me picture a The Rock-like guy making fun of romance books. Overall the book was very addicting though and I would definitely recommend it if you're into romcoms.
