Making It So by Patrick Stewart
5.0
Truly, my king. I give the book itself four stars with a bonus star being awarded for the audiobook. He absolutely does an incredible job reading it, not that I am surprised. Having arrived here from the star trek world, I expected to be a little bit bored at the beginning, discussing both his childhood, and his time with Shakespeare, but instead found that I learned so much and was really interested. I like the way he chooses which stories to tell. Also, I find an issue with memoirs of older people writing now is that they have a hard time acknowledging some of the things that they have done in their youth that today would be interpreted as problematic, yet he takes incredible ownership for some of his more problematic past actions, specifically by apologizing rather than defending or attempting to contextualize them. If you’re looking some for some soothing, low stakes background audio content, I highly recommend this.
