I think some of the story was a little slow. We did see some conflict in the first half but I feel like the story didn’t pick up until about 35-40%. I liked that this was a YA bisexual romance with no spice. There was hinting as yearning like how a teen has a very strong crush but overall no spice so I was happy about that. Themes of racism, classism, faith/religion, and morality are discussed. I wouldn’t call this HEA at all because it showed some things anre inevitable but it could be an important part of the story and how things will play out in the future. I’d highly suggest listening to the history notes and author’s note at the end. It gives a little more insight on everything discussed.
