I first read Ev and David’s story in 2014 and I liked it but I didn’t love it.

And this was book club pick so it was kind of like getting to re read it all over again for the first time.

I enjoyed the back and forth these two characters have, I love the getting to know you parts.

And I love the just because he is in a rock band he doesn’t act like he is.

His band mate Mal befriends Ev when David is being a butt head and I think I liked that best of all.

David really did need to grow in this book, he doesn’t open up and not doing that causes a lot of problems. He couldn’t expect trust and not give it back.

You can’t blindly trust someone who only gives you part of the truth. So it was a learning curve not only for Ev but also for David. And I think he did grow throughout the book and was stronger for it in the end.

I liked the relationship Ev has with her best friend Lauren, but I found it a little odd that Ev wasn’t more upset that her brother and Lauren hooked up behind her back. They didn’t hide it but they didn’t tell her right away. I think being her best friend she should have at least gave Ev a heads up.

Over all I really enjoyed the book, it’s still not my favorite of the series but it’s not my least favorite either.

And I love the narration; I believe this is the series where I started my girl crush on Andi Arndt’s work.

*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*
