Bill Hayes writes with a beautiful freshness, when I read what he writes I feel as though a I have dipped my toes into a crisp stream and I am fully awake. The book itself was emotionally a bit hard to read being just out of the throws of Covid, but ultimately worth it for the clear snapshot of New York during their first lockdown
