Tigana: Anniversary Edition by Guy Gavriel Kay
5.0
I asked my friends at Just the Right Book to send a work of high fantasy filled with court intrigue and subterfuge and wizards and cunning queens and battles that was only a single book. They sent me Tigana. They hit the mark better than I could have imagined.
I haven’t felt this affected by a novel in some time. Kay weaves a complex and emotional tale from an inauspicious beginning and delves deep into powerful themes of memory and self and identity. This is a work of powerful hope that explores how capable we are of achieving great and world changing things with nothing more than a sliver of hope and the will to follow it. Truly stunning.
