The Younger Wife by Sally Hepworth
3.0
the younger wife brings the idea of a "dysfunctional" family to a whole other level. secrets upon secrets were piling up on top of each other. we follow rachel and natalie "tully", two sisters with a mother who's suffering from dementia and a father who's about to marry a woman of their age, hence the title.
this was quite a slow one for me. i don't particularly sure if i had liked it or if i had hated it. i definitely have a 50-50 sort of mixed feelings with this one. i loved the idea of the plot but the mystery or the thriller felt underdeveloped and unnecessarily long. i loved that their mother suffered from dementia which adds up the mystery to the story even more but the way that everything unravelled felt so bleak. i literally have no other words to describe it except for the word bleak right now. overall, it had a good idea with a good potential but to me it was poorly executed. i did have a good time reading this but i just wished it would've been more better and good.
thank you to definitely books by pansing for sending me a copy in exchange for an honest review.
