I really wanted to like this book because I haven't read a lot of stories from this part of the world, but I wasn't engaged enough to stick with it. The author jumps from characters and time periods too quickly. When I stop reading for the day, I literally forget everything I had just read. It's rated really highly by other reviewers though, so don't let my experience dissuade you from reading it!
