I heard about Hench from a post on Tor.com under the topic “competence porn”.
I was in the mood for competent characters and oh, did I love the book!
The world is well thought out and characters act appropriately in the world. I was able to fall into the book. I expect I will reread it and must now own a copy of my own.
Do check out trigger warnings. The gore towards the end was intense.
