Incredible. It was slow, but the ending really blindsided me. I feel like I went through the book believing in a lie until the last bit. I hope that was the authors goal or I’ll be embarrassed. This was so incredible and not what I expected at all. Definitely one to make you mull. 

If you like slow, pensive novels that deal with language, colonization, and perceptions of culture/people, this is great. 

Also the mumblings of the Englishman were just superb.
