“I’m actually thirty-two, and I never thought I’d hear a socially crippled virgin who binges on romance books speculate on my size. You made my day.” I had earned that one, and it hurt in all the right places.

boy where do i start? well i guess i can say the quote above absolutely sets the mood for this book and our main female character, island. this book jumps into action right away and you never have a moment of rest or a “lull” of any kind. this author did something absolutely genius and that thing is the cheesy, cliche, fake romance novel quotes at the beginning of every chapter! it actually alludes to things you’ll read about in that specific chapter and it took me an embarrassingly long time to realize that lol.
island and march are GREAT main characters. i wouldn’t call this a grumpy sunshine but island is definitely a lot more bubbly, impulsive and hilarious when she probably doesn’t mean to be. march is a lot more reserved… but he has moments where he’ll flirt or make light hearted jabs at island (look at quote above LOL)
the tension definitely made me choke and die and i was dying for more but yk it’s ok i’m in it for the long haul i can do a slow burn! BRING IT ON!!!!
also if you like cassandra gannon novels… you’ll like this too probably.
