What fun! This book reminded me of The Scarlet Pimpernel by Orczy. It was set before the French revolution but was similar in that it was witty, clever, and had a mystery to solve. I had to really concentrate to follow the dialogue but it was worth the effort. What a fun find! I think I will really enjoy this author.
