The Vacation by John Marrs

2.0

This book is just not a cohesive story. So many moving parts with what seems like a hundred characters with all different stories. With a thriller that has a whole cast of characters I expect all of their stories to be connected but this was very disjunctive. There were good twists and turns but a lot of these characters just didn’t seem real and the actions didn’t make any sense. Motivations were off it and it just felt cartoonish at points. The beginning of this book was slow by the middle I was intrigued but the book kept on dragging and dragging. By the end I just didn’t care. This book was a hundred pages too long and by the epilogue I just wanted it to be over which is never how I want to feel at the end of a book. Like an amazing concept with lackluster delivery. The Vacation felt like a big waste of my time by the time I was finished.
