Sleeping with the Dark by Brooklyn Cross
5.0
“Was it possible to be a ghost and keep breathing?”
Trevor has his whole life mapped out until one fateful mission when his world blew up around him. Cody had sacrificed his life, his soul and sometimes his mind to save his sister from a fate worse than death. Trevor cloaked himself with the dark when tragedy snuffed out his soul. Cody embraced the dark to save his soul. Will the darkness forever envelop them?
“He’d sell his f*cking soul to the devil himself to have this man, even for a single night.”
In the last book we are introduced to Trevor (Arek’s twin brother) and Cody (Renee’s older brother). From the moment they met, they had instant chemistry! From the last book, we know Cody was forced to do some awful things but his redemption in this book was amazing! Trevor is also portrayed as cold but once his backstory is revealed, everything makes sense! This is one of those instances where I’m so freaking glad The SmutHood exists because this series would not have been on my radar but I’m so glad I picked it up! I can’t wait to see what else is in store for this series!
Note: check TW/CW! This is Book 3 of an ongoing series. This book contains a MM relationship, depictions of ptsd & themes that are not suitable for everyone.
Thank you to Brooklyn Cross and SmutHood for this backlist copy. This review was written honestly & voluntarily based on my own enjoyment of the book.
