This is by far one of my all time favorite books. The Count of Monte Cristo is the ultimate story of betrayal and revenge. Edmond Dantes is betrayed by 3 men: Villefort, Danglars and Fernand. Because of their actions Edmond was found guilty of being a Bonapartist and was sentenced to prison. Years later, he is able to escape and ultimately plan his revenge on those who ruined his life. However, Edmund Dantes comes to find that his actions of revenge also affect those who are innocent. I can read this story again and again.
