Okay so NOW I get the hype! I was so much more invested in the plot in this book, and found it far more interesting than in the first. I also liked that I got to know more about Xie Lian’s past; it gave me a broader understanding of the characters and the world building. I’m starting to get used to the writing style, still struggling a little with the names though not gonna lie. ALSO I just have to mention Hua Cheng, even though I don’t know a lot about him (I have my theories and suspicions though) I’m still very captivated by him just like Xie Lian.I love how protective they are about each other and OH MY GOD I have to address the dice scene because that was some TENSION (were they reallyyyy talking about dice rolling? 😏). Anyway, I’m looking forward to reading the third book!
