I enjoyed this read from cover to cover! I had no idea what I was going to get when I picked up this book, as the author was completely new to me, but I'd been given numerous glowing recommendations for the book so I figured that I'd likely enjoy it!

I instantly fell in love with Merritt, the heroine. As her story unfolded and dialog with those around her ensued, I couldn't help but laugh at how similar her character is to my personality. I felt a connection to the character that I don't usually find in these types of books. Her sarcasm and borderline negative/skeptical attitude was a breathe of fresh air! A realistic character through and through! Despite the utter despair she'd encountered in her life, she was still independent, courageous and head strong. All of her struggles gave her the ability to take on the world.

The entire read I just kept wanting Chase and Mer to kiss already!!!!!!! The attraction and chemistry was obvious but they were both stubborn and slow to show their true feelings. I adored Chase's character and fell more and more in love with him as his secrets came out and he confided in Merritt.

Children written into adult content books is usually an instant turn off to me, especially if they have dialog. But Khloe's character (Chase's 4 year old sister) was created perfectly! Her innocence and instant connection to Merry made my heart warm and I loved her interaction with all of the main characters.

This book was a completely emotional read with many glimpses of the happiness that the characters deserved and left me feeling extremely satisfied. Even with the cliffhanger ending! I cannot wait to dive into book 2 of this series! #TeamChaseandMerritt all the way!
