Traditional Veronica Speedwell mystery

This follows the standard of the series I have read as of yet: Veronica and Stoker involved in solving a mystery, as one or both get into danger in the course of things, and wrestling with their relationship as they go.
The opening mystery gave me I Know What You Did Last Summer vibes, but that did not pay off. I was also disappointed by the "solving" of the mystery.
