This was so goddamn CUTE! I honestly don't know why I kept putting off reading this one. I'm not even sure I can put a coherent review into words? So let me just...bullet point my thoughts. That sounds easier.

• The art style! It's adorable. I love the color schemes, the character designs, all of it. This is a huge selling point for me with graphic novels, and I'm thrilled that this book delivered on the art style AND on everything else.
• The panels are easy to follow. Sometimes it's hard to know in what order to read things because so much is happening, but that's not at all the case here. It was very straightforward.
• The characters were so enjoyable. Every single one of them. I love that the story is about more than just our little kitchen witch. Sun is especially my favorite, but Babs is cute too. Their dynamic has me rooting for them. And despite there being quite a few characters, it was easy to tell them all apart. They have distinct personalities in addition to their obvious differences in appearance. I wasn’t mixing anyone up or forgetting who someone was. I felt like they all got a good amount of page time.
• The plot is lovely. It's equal measures lighthearted, inspiring, and important. There's a lot of things happening, but I feel like the author divided things up in a way that made it all easy to follow and keep straight in my head. Sun's plotline was my favorite, but there honestly wasn't ever a dull moment.

I genuinely don't have anything bad to say about this book. I want a physical copy. I NEED a physical copy. And I will be almost immediately jumping into volume 2.
