Incredibly introspective with some remarkable prose, this book makes me excited to read more of McConaghy's works. The biggest gripe is that some twists felt centered on white womanhood's relationship to nature (some of the treatment of characters of color was tiring). All that said, this is a book that shines past its flaws.
