My first cozy mystery and full-cast audiobook, and I had a lovely time! Every narrator brought a lot of life to their character. The baking competition and the manor were the perfect cozy backdrop for a lot of drama, great recipe ideas, and some action. I loved all the descriptions of Grafton Manor. I enjoy contest-based shows, so I enjoyed reading about the baking contest’s logistics and the recipes. I loved the unexpected friendship formed between Lottie, the token old lady, and Pradyumna, a billionaire for whom the competition was merely a fun event in his “boring” life.

The characters represented the stereotypes of these contests well, but all weren’t fully fleshed out. There are three mysteries, including the murder, and while they weren’t all that mysterious to me, and one of the smaller ones didn’t seem to hold up, they wrapped up in an okay way. In the epilogue, there’s a throwaway line about a romance that I thought was unnecessary.

It was a good entry into the genre of cozy mysteries!
