Ok, so I'm not the biggest fan of military stories, but I thought this book looked interesting. Unfortunately, it wasn't. At least, not for me. More often than not, I had no idea who people were and what was going on. And while that may, in some cases, be because of my mental disabilities, that wasn't the case here.

This book had so many characters introduced willy-nilly, and many of them had multiple names or titles used just as randomly. It was very confusing, and in the end, I only remember like 3 characters - that's including the MC.
My other issue was that this book jumped from event to event without giving us any breathing room. An example was the people working directly under the MC.
We get introduced to them in an interlude-chapter, but then we never get told that they arrive at the station or their reunion with the MC. It took me multiple chapters to realize that the characters were the same!
Another example is the romance. It felt very forced and random in this book, because we didn't really get to experience it with the characters. This is also because of the writing style, though, which was very tell, and not showing us anything.
Finally, there was all the random science. I love science! I love learning! But this book just threw out names and jargons at random, and that kept throwing me out of the story.

So, yeah, I'm sorry to say that this book REALLY wasn't for me, and I won't continue on with the rest of the series.
