Overview: Erik is a Viking from Denmark fighting England and Scotland to claim their lands for the Vikings. Linzi is a simple Scots woman living with her father and brother. As Erik moves his men closer, Linzi's brother takes up arms and her father falls ill. Erik is then hit by two arrows coming from his camp and rides his horse into the forest, coming out on the other side mere yards from Linzi's home. To defend her father and her land, Linzi goes to kill him.

Opinion: It's pretty good, but seems unfinished. It is portrayed as a romance book but there is no romance at all. It is mostly blood and death. Then it appears that Linzi kills Erik, who I think is the intended love interest. I know there is more to the series, but I can't call it a romance novella, nor can I recommend it as such. It is more of a slasher/thriller type and not at all what I expected. The author also makes sure to state it is a romance novella, and not erotica. Two facts that should be backed up by evidence that it is lacking in either department. Also something else that bugged me was the book takes place in the 800's but the soldiers would use the term "bloody..." which did not come about until the 1550's because of Queen Mary I. Throwing the whole illusion off.
