Autumn of the Grimoire by J.L. Vampa

4.0

The youngest of the Sisters Solstice, Agatha, has been tasked by Hespa through the sacred Grimoire to travel and marry the 'Prince of Gem and Bone'. She leaves her autumnal cottage (she is the Sister of Autumn) to complete her mission and finds much more than she ever bargained for in the city of Merveille. Agatha might be keeping her witchy ways a secret, but there are many more secrets lurking behind the castle doors, and a formidable foe wreaking havoc across the lands hiding behind the guise of well-being.

Undertones that match our own societal dilemmas, a somewhat enemies to lovers backdrop (the banter between Grimm and Agatha is delightful), and a high stakes infiltration bring this world alive in the readers hands. There is some spice (but not a lot) and the story is so captivating that I'm glad I finished it only days prior to the release of the sequel. I'm eager to see where this story goes, watch secrets and conspiracies unfold, and watch as "poor" Gaius navigates his own Sister Solstice (I don't even know Agatha's sister very well but I can tell she is a wonderful ball of trouble.)
