I tried to read this a few years ago and couldn't get past the first few chapters, I felt then that the style was too stuffy and the characters too stereotypical. this time around I listened to the book (which I rarely do) and I looooved it. it feels honest and real and extremely relevant and modern despite my misgivings. there's something in here for every queer person to contemplate and recognize and I urge you to give it a proper chance like I finally did, thank god
