This is my favorite volume of the story so far (at least what is out in English).
We follow Pariya, one of the girls that Amir has made friends with as her and her family struggle after the attack from the nomadic clan that destroyed her home and most of her dowry. She struggles with self-doubt and anxiety as she is (for this time) getting farther from the 'desirable age to marry, and with her needlework being destroyed, that only pushes things out farther between her and her potential partner.
Pariya's storyline is probably my favorite after the ongoing storyline of Mr. Smith and Talas.
