Bedtime for Frances by Russell Hoban

1.0

Whoops! I read this with my students without reviewing it since my own childhood readings. It was a good discussion starter with a 9 year old, who is past real bedtime fears but not past delaying tactics. And then came the threat of spanking. I had to cover quickly, explaining that this was an older book and affirming that this wasn’t an acceptable or effective tactic on the parents’ part.

Obviously removed from the reading rotation. Unfortunately, my copy is in a collection (which was updated and edited for certain issues, but obviously not all), so I won’t just dump the book. Ripe for an update.
