A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas
5.0
All of the stars in the sky!
First, I have to talk about The High Lord of The Night Court, Rhysand! This guy is just everything I want in life, sass, humor, loyal, feminist, selfless, shameless flirt, and not to mention damn SEXY! Like holy smokes, it should be outlawed to be that hot! Rhys has dethroned Dorian Havilland and Nico di Angelo for my top fictional boyfriend!
Second, holy shit this book was steamy! Like oh girl! If you thought Empire of Storms, and Kingdom of Ash was on fire, you ain't seen nothing yet! It was done in a very tasteful way and wasn't too much, but definitely not for children! 16+ please!
I absolutely loved the characters and plot. The atmosphere in this book was just so transportive, but it wasn't boring at all! I loved the quotes in this book, like "don't let the bad days win" and of course "to the stars who listen, and the dreams that are answered."
I loved the world building, I loved seeing the differences between the courts, and even more so the differences between the places in side the courts. I just want to go to Valaeis and The Night Court. Also, now I really want a cabin in the mountains!
The ending was so explosive and painful, but I loved it!
This book talks about so much heavy topics such as abusive relationships, mental health, feminism, sexual abuse, family blood related or not, politics, appearances and masks we wear, love, self acceptance, and our dreams and how they can be a light in the darkest of places.
This book is my new all time favorite and I think it will remain so for the rest of my life. However, this book is not for everyone, but that's okay. If you read ACOTAR I strongly recommend that you read this, because it will change your life!
