Daniel Deronda by George Eliot
4.0
I missed out on George Eliot in college, despite being an English major. I feel that coming to Eliot as an adult has enriched my readings of her works in a positive way. I truly enjoyed Daniel Deronda. This book is a thinker's book, thematically discussing the gentry and Zionism. But it is also truly one of those absolutely engrossing Victorian novels, with interesting characters and moving plot twists. In this respect, it definitely reminds me of a lot of modern novels. I thought the book fascinating because it deals with two different characters and their journeys to self discovery. This was just a fun book.
