I really wanted to like this book. And I did for the first 150 pages which I thought was an excellent start. But everything seemed to quickly fall apart for me.
The characters felt inconsistent and simply off in some way. The plot wasn't super clear and seemed to meander. The worldbuilding was alright, but this world really didn't feel lived in and large enough to create a sense of wonder and immersion. And it was waaaay to explicit for my taste.
Overall it was just unfortunately quite disappointing.
Updated thoughts 7/12/23: I hate this book. I don't know why I forced myself to finish.
