I'd forgotten how terrible of a person Liam is for Alanna - condescending, a little misogynistic, a know-it-all - so that was a surprise to come back to. The deaths of
Liam, Alex, and Thom
were difficult in their own ways, and some of the development with the rest of the characters felt very different in a good and mature way.
