AGGHH this was so freaking amazing. I love it SO SO SO much! This book honestly delivers on every single front: the plot flows perfectly and at a very nice pace, the humour has you laughing out loud, and the characters are incredibly likable, which instantly makes you care about them.
But most importantly: the romance. Don’t even get me started on the romance, because my oh my, wasn’t that just absolutely awesome. It made me swoon, it made my heart flutter, it basically made me really god damn happy. Maddox and Damon are seriously the epiphany of cute. I adored how much they cared for each other, their banter was amazing, and their chemistry was truly visible.
The road to them getting together (namely: Maddox realizing his sexuality, and Damon coming to terms with his own insecurities about that) was so interesting and so entertaining, and so cute, and so, ughhh yesss. But even when they gradually started getting together, it didn’t slow down from there: it remained just angsty enough, with more than enough sweet romantic feelings.
The fact that both of the love interests are so lovely also really helped. I mean, Damon was honestly super super great, and Maddox literally owns my heart: he was an amazing character and I loved everything he did and how he was. He is hilarious with a heart of gold, could it get any better?
I also really liked the dynamics with Damon’s sister and Maddox’s best friend, Stacy. Her character was super entertaining and she really added to the story. She was my favourite side character, but honestly, I liked a lot of them. None were annoying, and they all fit perfectly into the story.
I am quite excited about [b:Trick Play|39863941|Trick Play (Fake Boyfriend, #2)|Eden Finley|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1528369474l/39863941._SY75_.jpg|61660535], which I know will be about Noah and Matt. I don't know much about Matt yet, but Noah definitely peeked my interest, and their story could be really great! Especially if Maddox and Damon will make their appearances, which I suspect they will!
Anyway, long story short, this book was an absolute blast to read and it gave me all the feels! When I was done reading, I actually felt quite sad. I was not ready to leave the awesomeness that is this book. One of my new favourites for sure! I cannot find any flaws when it comes to this book, none at all.
